Saravah! is Yukihiro Takahashi’s first solo album, released just before the formation of Yellow Magic Orchestra. Produced by Haruomi Hosono and featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shigeru Suzuki, and Tatsuo Hayashi, the record moves between tropical pop, light funk, and early electronic textures. Tracks like “C’est Si Bon” and “Present” show the playful, stylish side, while the overall sound already hints at the direction these musicians would soon take together. For Record Monster, this is not just a solo debut. It is a key pre-YMO document where Japanese pop, groove, and experimentation meet in a very natural way.
