Yosui Inoue – Lion & Pelican
Yosui Inoue – Lion & Pelican
Japan Original Pressing.
Featuring the timeless “Riverside Hotel” — a sophisticated 1982 Japanese urban-pop classic filled with nocturnal AOR, new-wave tension and Yosui Inoue’s unmistakably surreal songwriting.
One of Yosui Inoue’s essential ’80s albums, and home to the timeless “Riverside Hotel.” Lion & Pelican moves far beyond his folk roots into nocturnal AOR, sleek funk, subtle new wave and a wonderfully loose, Balearic after-hours atmosphere.
“Tomadou Pelican” is mysterious and cinematic, “Canaria” drifts with a cool sense of space, while “Senaka Made 45-fun” feels like a strange late-night hotel-lounge fantasy. At the center is “Riverside Hotel” — elegant, haunting and one of the defining songs of ’80s Japanese pop.
Urban, tropical, slightly surreal and beautifully off-center — a Yosui album that sounds increasingly fascinating through today’s Balearic / leftfield ears.

About the Condition
About the Condition

| VG (Very Good) | Visible wear and surface noise. Plays through without skipping. |
| G+ (Good Plus) | Heavily used. Significant wear or scratches, but still playable. |
+ / − may be added to indicate slight variations (e.g. VG+, EX−).
We visually inspect every record, and we clean each one before shipping (play-testing when needed). Even new or great-looking vinyl—especially some Japanese pressings—can have light background noise. We grade carefully by eye and ear, but it’s still a human call, so please check the notes before buying.
