A beautiful and elusive 1982 Japanese Light Mellow gem — sophisticated fusion grooves, smoky late-night vocals and a highly desirable original promo copy.

Yoko Maeno’s final album is one of the more quietly brilliant Japanese Light Mellow records of the early ’80s. Produced and arranged throughout by Chikara Ueda, Twilight surrounds Maeno’s rich, smoky voice with polished jazz-fusion, AOR and sophisticated late-night grooves.

Her versions of Grover Washington Jr.’s “Winelight” and The Crusaders’ “Longest Night” are beautifully reworked, while originals such as “Ai no Hitojichi” and “Twilight Circle” reveal an even deeper, more nocturnal side of the album.

Elegant, adult and still surprisingly overlooked — made even more special here as an original Japanese promo copy.
