Released April 21, 1984 on Air/RVC (LP catalog RAL-8812), “After 5 Clash” marks Kadomatsu’s shift from beach-AOR to night-city grooves. Cut at Nichion Studio and Sound Inn with top Tokyo session players, the sequencing is built for both deep listeners and selectors: Side A runs “If You…,” “Midnight Girl,” “Airport Lady,” “Maybe It’s Love Affair,” “Will You Wait For Me”; Side B kicks with “Step Into The Light → After 5 Crash,” then “Never Touch Again,” “I Need You,” and the hooky single “Heart Dancing.” Polished rhythm beds, bright synth lines, and tight horn/sax cameos (Jake H. Conception, etc.) make this a go-to for modern-soul/city-pop sets. Originals on Air/RVC are the reference copies; later CD issues came via BMG/ Victor.
