Lucky Summer Lady is stronger when it is framed as an early jazz-funk / fusion record rather than polished background music. Before the band settled into the tighter T-SQUARE sound most people know, this debut still had more color around the edges: funkier rhythm playing, a bit of Latin lift, electric piano warmth, and a softer late-’70s urban feel. With Takeshi Itoh and Masahiro Andoh already in place, you can hear the beginnings of the band, but the charm here is that it still moves with more looseness and groove than the later high-precision records.

We visually inspect every record, and we clean each one before shipping (play-testing when needed). Even new or great-looking vinyl—especially some Japanese pressings—can have light background noise.
