On The Street Corner 3 is the third chapter in Tatsuro Yamashita’s lifelong a cappella project, built around classic doo-wop and soul harmony. “Stand By Me,” “Gloria,” and “Love T.K.O.” are familiar songs, but Yamashita reshapes them through layered vocals, careful arrangement, and his deep understanding of American vocal group music. For Record Monster, this is not a city-pop groove record, but a key Tatsuro title that shows the roots behind his harmony, melody, and production sense.
