Takeo Yamashita’s classic Lupin sound — the green-jacket era vibe from the very first TV series.
This 1980 LP is a re-recording (the original anime masters were lost), but the mood is pure Showa noir: scat, flute, funky beats, and tight studio grooves.
Charlie Kosei shines on the “Opening Theme,” and the bittersweet “Ending Theme” (“Walther P38 / Kono Te no Naka ni”) is the famous tearjerker — but the deep cuts hit harder:
“AFRO ROCK THEME,” “DISCO PLAYS LUPIN,” “ROCK THEME No.1,” “TWO-BEAT ROCK,” “A TOUCH OF JAPANESE TONE.”
If you love Yuji Ohno’s fusion side, this is the earlier, sharper, more cinematic Lupin — and super creator/DJ-friendly.
