1978 Yupiteru rare-groove classic — Noriko Miyamoto “Push,” produced by Isao Suzuki.
Released in Japan in 1978 on Yupiteru Records (catalog YJ25-7002), “Push” is Noriko Miyamoto’s debut, produced and led by bass legend Isao Suzuki. The set blends jazz-funk and soulful crossover: English-language vocals meet supple, bass-forward arrangements, including the standards Everything I Have Is Yours and an instrumental take on Stella by Starlight. The title cut “Push” offers a rare-groove bounce with clean intros and drum passages DJs love, while “My Life” (aka Yarikake no Jinsei) has become the mellow favorite among collectors in recent years.
