Creamy mid-80s city pop/AOR from idol-era Momoko Kikuchi – sparkling synths, soft-focus grooves and bittersweet hooks made for late-night listening.
Released in 1986 on VAP and a No.1 album at the time, Adventure is one of Momoko Kikuchi’s key city pop-era records – a smooth, band-backed production that nudges her idol pop into more adult AOR territory. Bright, midtempo cuts glide on clean drums, warm bass and glossy synths, while the ballads keep her soft, airy vocals right up front. The arrangements leave plenty of space: guitar arpeggios, simple keyboard vamps and open chord sections that DJs can slide into mellow city pop sets, and beatmakers can easily flip into sample-friendly loops without losing that unmistakable 80s Japanese pop shine.
