A deep 1983 Japanese new-age and ambient LP, where yokobue flute meets synths, progressive structure, and meditative space.
Yokobue is a very special Michiko Akao album, produced and arranged by Shigeaki Saegusa. The first side blends Japanese flute with synths, vocoder-like textures, and a progressive crossover feel, while the second side moves into a quieter, more meditative space centered around Akao’s flute. Not city pop or straight traditional music, but a deep Japanese new-age record for listeners into ambient, spiritual sound, and leftfield Wamono.
