Meiko Nakahara’s 1982 album Friday Magic (2時までのシンデレラ) is one of those Eastworld-era city-pop staples that never stops working: bright, clean pop writing, but with a boogie pulse that keeps it moving.
The musicianship is the secret weapon. With Masaki Matsubara on guitar and a heavyweight rhythm team across the sessions, the grooves feel polished and confident, like late-night Tokyo radio with the volume turned up just right.
