Seychelles is Masayoshi Takanaka’s essential 1976 solo debut, filled with bright guitar, tropical rhythm, and the relaxed groove that would define his early sound. “OH! TENGO SUERTE,” “Tokyo Reggy,” and “TROPIC BIRDS” remain standout cuts. This 2024 edition gives the album a beautifully presented analog upgrade with 180g clear sky-blue vinyl and Abbey Road mastering.
