Tropical Japanese fusion with boogie, island disco and smooth AOR touches – sample-friendly drums, bright guitars and synths all over.
On Jungle Jane, Masayoshi Takanaka leans into a tropical fusion sound – bright chorus guitars, slap-tinged bass and crisp drums driving everything from midtempo island grooves to more boogie-oriented cuts. The title track and other dancers come with extended intros and breakdowns that are very DJ-friendly, while the slower tunes keep his melodic “singing guitar” front and center for late-night or Balearic-style sets. Clean drum openings, percussion-only sections and simple synth/bass vamps give beatmakers plenty of sample-friendly loops, making this album work both as a front-to-back listen and as a toolbox for groove-focused selectors.
