Hiroshi Satoh at his sleekest and most sophisticated. Released in 1987, Future File combines his distinctive DX-era synth sound with an exceptional lineup including Nathan East, John “JR” Robinson, Paul Jackson Jr., Bobby Watson, Yuji Toriyama, Jun Aoyama and vocalist Lynn Davis.
Glossy but never lightweight, the album moves effortlessly between sophisticated AOR, mellow digital funk and late-night urban grooves. “Together” and “Lady Of The Nile” bring a smooth West Coast feel, while “Funky Multi” shows Satoh at his sharpest and most rhythmically addictive.
