Don’t let the big-band cover fool you. Side B is a heavyweight Japanese studio session featuring original works by Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yuji Ohno, Mickie Yoshino and Hiromasa Suzuki, backed by some of the finest players of 1979.

Hi-Phonics Hi-Phonics hides an incredible Japanese fusion and rare-groove session on its second side. Haruomi Hosono’s tropical “Jamaica Ginger” features Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Hiroshi Sato together, while Sakamoto’s “Dragoon” pushes into darker, sharper fusion and Yuji Ohno’s “Littl' Duckling” closes the record with Nanako Sato’s beautiful scat vocals. Add Kazumi Watanabe, Yuichi Togashiki, Akira Okazawa and more, and the personnel alone becomes almost unbelievable. A true deep Wamono discovery hiding behind an innocent-looking big-band LP.

S (Sealed)	Still sealed in factory wrap. Never played.
M (Mint)	Perfect condition. Looks unplayed with no signs of use. Typically used for records that are brand new or opened but never played.
EX (Excellent)	Very clean. May have light scuffs or hairline marks, but plays perfectly.
VG+ (Very Good Plus)	Minor wear, light surface noise, no major flaws — a solid average used copy.
VG (Very Good)	Visible wear and surface noise. Plays through without skipping.
G+ (Good Plus)	Heavily used. Significant wear or scratches, but still playable.
