Late-’70s Japanese soul-jazz/AOR with a lounge touch—creamy Rhodes, strings, and a mature, late-night vocal set.
Recorded at Nippon Columbia Studio in April 1976, this first-phase Shibata set moves between smoky ballads and mellow city-pop grooves. Standout cuts include A1 “Love” (slow, smoky soul ballad) and A2 “Season Off” (mellow city-pop/jazz-funk). Across the record you’ll hear warm Rhodes chords, tasteful horns, and spacious sections that DJs and beatmakers will appreciate for sample-friendly moments.
