Itihāsa feels less like a simple manga-related record and more like a private world with its own belief system. Anzai, best known as a composer / keyboardist with one foot in electronic pop and another in early Japanese synth experimentation, shapes Waka Mizuki’s story into something spacious, rhythmic, and slightly strange. Ethnic percussion, soft electronics, and a faint spiritual tension make it easy to enter, but hard to fully explain—which is exactly what makes you want to stay with it.
