Sharp early-80s Japanese city pop with bright hooks, tight rhythm work, and a clean urban groove running through the whole set.
This is one of the records where EPO’s city pop side really locks in. Released in 1982 as her third full album, Uwasa ni Naritai balances catchy surface and musicianship better than its light image might suggest. “Girl in me” opens the album with a Ray Parker Jr. connection, while the title track was arranged by Kenji Omura, giving the record both sheen and movement from the start.
