1977 Japanese folk-kayokyoku with deep “wa” arrangements — Emiko Yamamuro & Sumio Shiratori, shaped by Susumu Nishizaki’s arranging hand.
This isn’t standard folk — it’s Emiko Yamamuro’s voice and Sumio Shiratori’s writing placed inside bold Japanese-instrument colors, the kind of “wa” atmosphere that feels cinematic.
Susumu Nishizaki’s arrangements (heard across the LP) give the record that distinctive lift: delicate, dramatic, and quietly powerful.
