Japan Original Press! 1984 YEN technopop oddity — Hosono-produced robot-concept LP “Chojiku Korodastan Ryokoki.”
Released in Japan on YEN Records (YLR-28018) in 1984, this Apogee & Perigee album is a tongue-in-cheek “space travel diary” fronted by commercial-robot characters; behind the masks is a YEN all-stars studio cast produced by Haruomi Hosono, with anonymous vocals and cameos from Jun Togawa, Miharu Koshi and Testpattern. The sequencing balances candy-coated synthpop with icy instrumentals—clean count-ins, drum machine beds, and bright FM/analog layers that DJs love. Think collectible, playful, and surprisingly mixable.
