Single’s History works best not as a casual best-of, but as a compact map of why S. Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe landed so hard. The band’s key singles already show the full shape of their appeal: sea-breeze brightness, carefully controlled sadness, and polished city-pop arrangement that never loses melodic force. Because it arrived the same year the group was heading toward its end, the record also carries a slight farewell atmosphere, which gives the familiar songs a different weight.
