Sparkling is one of MALTA’s most approachable and polished 80s fusion albums. Tracks like “Sparkling Fantasy,” “Scramble Avenue,” “Bad Boogie,” and “Summer Wave” carry a bright sax-led sound with clean rhythm, light boogie touches, and a breezy resort feel. Smooth and easy to enter, but still backed by strong musicianship, this is a nice pick for listeners into Japanese fusion with a mellow city groove.
